Traffic report: April 2017

This traffic report is based on the Topviews Analysis that shows the most viewed pages of a project.

The two top spots this month are taken by 13 Reasons Why, a book and subsequent television program.    Dylan Minnette (right) plays high school student Clay Jensen, who receives a package of tapes from a classmate Hannah Baker, played by Katherine Langford, explaining the 13 reasons she committed suicide. The series explores the sensitive themes of rape, bullying, and suicide, and has just been extended for another season.

Geils band on April 11; comedian Charlie Murphy, older brother of Eddie Murphy, on April 12; New York’s first African-American woman judge on an appeals court, Sheila Abdus-Salaam on April 12; and Erin Moran, who played playing Joanie Cunningham on the television sitcom Happy Days on April 22.

The third movie in the series, XXX: The Return of Xander Cage, starring Vin Diesel and Ice Cube.   The XXX sequels have not done well in domestic markets, but have shown strong earnings in China. Digital releases were announced in April.

The sequel to Baahubali: The Beginning, a Tollywood film which at the time was the highest grossing film in India.  Epic battles, kidnapped princesses, in the fictional kingdom of Mahishmati. Released April 28.

The renewal of interest in the Star Wars arch villain may have been due to a golden mask that went on display in Tokyo in April, ahead of the 40th anniversary of Star Wars on May 4th, known to fans as “may the fourth be with you”.

Indian actor, producer of Bollywood films, and politician,  died April 27.
